How do I create my first resume?

Do I need to provide a job description?

While it's optional, providing a job description helps our AI tailor your resume specifically to that role. The AI will match keywords, highlight relevant experience, and optimize your resume for better ATS compatibility. You can create a generic resume without one, then tailor it later for specific jobs.

How do I edit the AI-generated resume?

After AI generates your resume, you can edit any section directly. Click on any text to modify it. Changes are saved automatically. You can also use the "Regenerate" option if you want AI to rewrite a specific section differently.

What information should I include?

  • Contact information: Name, email, phone, LinkedIn URL (optional)
  • Work experience: Job titles, companies, dates, and key achievements with numbers
  • Education: Degrees, institutions, graduation dates, relevant coursework or honors
  • Skills: Technical skills, software, languages, certifications

How do I quantify my achievements?

Use specific numbers and metrics whenever possible. Instead of "improved efficiency," say "improved efficiency by 28%." Our AI will prompt you to add quantifiable results when it detects vague statements.

Can I create multiple resume versions?

Yes! With paid plans, you can create unlimited resume versions for different job types or industries. Each version is saved separately, and you can easily switch between them. The free plan includes one resume.

How long should my resume be?

For most professionals, one page is ideal. Two pages is acceptable if you have 10+ years of experience or many relevant achievements. Keep it concise and focused on the most relevant information for the job you're applying to.

What is ATS and why does it matter?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is software used by most companies to scan and filter resumes before they reach human recruiters. Your resume needs to be ATS-friendly to get past these systems.

Our AI automatically formats your resume for ATS compatibility, uses the right keywords, and structures content in a way that ATS systems can easily parse.

How does the ATS simulation work?

After creating your resume, you can test it against real ATS systems like Workday and Greenhouse. The simulation shows:

  • What information gets parsed correctly
  • What might be missed or ignored
  • Keyword match score with the job posting
  • Suggestions for improvement

What makes a resume ATS-friendly?

Troubleshooting

The AI isn't generating content I like

You can:

  • Click "Regenerate" to get alternative versions
  • Edit any section manually — all content is fully editable
  • Provide more detailed information in the intake wizard for better results

I can't access my account or resume

If you're having trouble logging in:

  • Use the "Forgot Password" link to reset your password
  • Check that you're using the correct email address
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  • Contact support if you continue to have issues

My resume formatting looks wrong when exported

Formatting issues are usually caused by:

  • Opening PDF in an incompatible viewer — try Adobe Reader or your browser's PDF viewer
  • Converting to DOCX can sometimes change formatting — PDF is recommended for ATS
  • Custom fonts not being available — our templates use standard fonts for compatibility

Account & Billing

How does billing work?

All plans are one-time payments with no recurring billing. You pay once and get access for the duration of your plan (7 days or 30 days). No monthly subscriptions, no automatic renewals.

When you're actively job searching, you don't need to worry about cancelling a subscription to save money. Only buy access when you need it.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if you haven't created more than 3 resumes. Contact support at support@rezumai.com with your purchase details.

How do I cancel my account?

Since there's no recurring billing, there's nothing to cancel. Your access expires after your plan duration. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, or contact support for assistance.

How do referrals work?

When you refer a friend who purchases a plan using your referral link:

  • You get 3 free days of Career Boost added to your account
  • Your friend gets 20% off their purchase
  • Maximum 30 free days per month (that's 10 referrals)
